Safety, Sustainability and Community
We protect the health and safety of everyone we work with, look after the environment, and make a positive contribution to the communities in which we work.
Together, we work to create a safe workplace. Through leadership, teamwork, honesty, and cooperation, we actively manage risk to protect the health and safety of all our employees, sub-contractors and clients. In project work, we adhere to our clients’ safety management plans, policies, and procedures in addition to our own.
We work in an environmentally responsible way, embracing sustainability and energy conservation for all our modular and transportable buildings. In every business unit, we actively consider the environmental effects of every activity and aim to maximise recovery, recycle and reuse.
Across our product lines, we innovate to improve environmental outcomes. For example, AMS creates affordable 6-star energy rated modular sustainable housing solutions. We offer photovoltaic solar power systems, solar hot water systems, grey water treatment, and rain water tanks. We help you conserve the environment in an affordable way, without sacrificing lifestyles and design integrity in any of our prefabricated modular homes.
Environmental
AMS recognises the importance of preserving the environment. We all carry responsibility for protecting our valuable and diminishing natural world.
We are committed to working in a responsible and sustainable manner to achieve Zero Environmental Incidents. Through innovation, design and proactive management we minimise our effects on the environment while ensuring we deliver to your requirements and satisfaction.
Health And Safety
We value our people and our clients. Therefore, injuries and incidents are not acceptable. We adopt a strong focus on safety and health through leadership; team work; recognition; honesty; and employee & client co-operation
Protecting the health and safety of employees, sub-contractors and clients is always our chief concern. As a team, we strive to manage risk and achieve zero injuries and zero incidents.
Drug And Alcohol
We endeavour to provide a healthy and safe workplace for everyone – at the office and at our project sites.
As a team, we share responsibility for eliminating inappropriate use of alcohol or drugs. Specifically, we:
- eliminate hazards caused by alcohol or drug use
- prevent any person who is affected by alcohol or drugs from creating a hazard to themselves or others
- strive to help employees seek support and assistance
Injury Management
AMS provides injury management assistance to employees who sustain a work-related illness or injury. Our aim is to support the injured person to achieve a timely, safe and sustainable return to work.
In conjunction with a medical practitioner, we may draw up a plan to reduce working hours or adjust duties during recovery. Our management approach recognises that success relies on the active participation and cooperation of the injured worker.
Indigenous Statement
AMS is committed to working collaboratively and in partnership with Indigenous Australians to ensure our products and services improve the well-being and life opportunities of Indigenous people and communities.
In particular, we consult with Indigenous communities before undertaking site works. We wish to ensure that we respect the legal rights of Indigenous people and the concerns of Indigenous communities for the protection of local flora, fauna and sacred sites.
Workplace Bullying
AMS considers bullying as unacceptable workplace behaviour and will not tolerate it under any circumstances. Workplace bullying is the "repeated, unreasonable behaviour directed at an employee, or group of employees, that creates a risk to health and safety".
